CAF CC: Pitso Mosimane wary of “dangerous” Medeama

Head Coach of Mamelodi Sundowns, Pitso Mosimane is preaching caution as his side gets ready to face Medeama in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup playoffs.

The Tarkwa-based outfit put up but for the final nine minutes when they conceded three goals, a spirited performance in the first leg duel of the CAF Confederations Cup play-offs against Sundowns in South Africa. Mosimane believes their opponents are very dangerous and have the quality to qualify over his side.

The Mauve and Yellows lost the first leg by 3-1 after scoring very early in the game but had to be humbled in the closing minutes of the game by the PSL Champions. Misomane disclosed despite their advantage, Medeama are capable of turning the tide in their favour.

“Medeama is a very god side. They had a goal in South Africa and it took us some time to get the win. They have quality in the team and can be dangerous on any day,” the former Bafana Bafana coach told the media upon his side’s arrival at the Kotoka International Airport  Sunday evening.

The Brazilians boss also praised the Medeama side for their youthful setup and believes that is their greatest asset.

“They have a young team and can run for the entire duration of the game. They can be a dangerous side,” he added.

Sundowns, in search for qualification to the Group Stage of the continental club competition, face Medeama SC for the second leg of the play-off tie on Wednesday at the Essipong Sports Stadium in Sekondi.
