Aduana overturn Al-Tahadi to reach Caf CL Round of 32

Aduana Stars secured one of the spots in the Caf Champions League Round of 32 on Wednesday after bouncing back from a 1-0 first leg defeat to beat Al-Tahadi 2-1 on aggregate.

The Ghanaian champions ensured they went past the preliminary round with 2-0 win at the Nana Agyeman Badu I Park in Dormaa courtesy goals from Elvis Opoku and Derick Sasraku.

After a fiercely contested first half that saw a both sides failing to find the back of the net, the second half produced all two goals.

The first was scored by Elvis Opoku in the 53rd minute from a goal mouth melee an action that broke the resistance of Tahadi, who had defended their one goal scored in the first leg till that point.

Aduana upped their game soon after the goal and mounted more pressure on the visitors who were mostly in their own half defending.

Striker Derick Sasraku netted the second goal in the 74th minute to seal the win for the Ghanaians who are participating in the competition for the second time in their history.

Aduana will face ES Setif of Algeria in a battle for a ticket to the group stage of the Champions League, popularly called the money zone. The Dormaa-based club will host the first leg on Wednesday March 7 before heading for the return leg in Algeria on the weekend of March 16-18.
