U-20 Women’s WCQ: Kenya head for Ghana with 17 players
A Kenya Under-20 women’s contingent of 17 players and 7 technical team members is expected in Accra Friday to face Ghana in a qualifying match to the Fifa World Cup in France this weekend.
Ghana’s U-20s, the Black Princesses will host the Kenyans in the first leg of their third round tie at the Cape Coast Stadium this Sunday. Kickoff is at 1530GMT.
The Junior Starlets contingent is scheduled to depart Nairobi for Accra at 0530GMT.
Head coach Caroline Ajowi is leading a team without seven players who played a part in the second-round tie against Ethiopia in September as they are sitting their end year KCSE exams.
The seven are Sheryl Angachi, Cynthia Shilwatso, Maureen Khakasa, Cynthia Akinyi, Sharon Adhiambo, Mercy Airo and Vivian Nasaka.
The Kenya team is expected to return home next week Tuesday for preparations towards the second leg slated for Saturday 18 November at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
