Eto’o unveils new hotel for Cameroon national teams

The Samuel Eto’o-led Cameroon FA (Fecafoot) can now boast of camping its national teams under better conditions following the completion of a dedicated 1.5 billion CFA francs hotel.

Rising from the ground and showcasing its magnificence, the Indomitable Lions Hotel is situated in the Odza-Yaoundé district. It can be found inside the Fecafoot Technical Center.

Before its official opening on Saturday, March 25, President Eto’o experienced firsthand the reality which lasted an entire 12 months.

He said: “I am delighted because we have an excellent work tool. The kids will be able to work in highly acceptable conditions, primarily serving the national teams and other clubs from our diverse championships who wish to train in optimal conditions.”

Now part of Cameroon’s football home – the Fecafoot Technical Center which has standard pitches, gyms and all amenities needed for a pleasant stay, the hotel will now host the respective national teams’ preparations for competitions. The hotel has 35 double rooms to accommodate two teams at the same time.

The hotel also offers a suite, a conference room, and a weightlifting area. The range of services is expanded by the administrative block, which will house the National Technical Directorate, and the dining hall. A video surveillance system is installed in the technical room, with cameras positioned throughout the courtyard and outside all the buildings.

The existing infrastructure has been refurbished. These include two annex buildings, A and B, designated for youth national teams, and the rejuvenated synthetic turf football stadium. Eight pylons now allow matches after nightfall.

The facility was made possible through funding under the FIFA Forward Football Development Programme which the Fecafoot signed in October 2020.
