Eto’o trains with Asec Mimosas in Abidjan
Cameroon and Barcelona legend Samuel Eto’o paid a surprise visit and trained with the Asec Mimosas team on Wednesday.
The Ivorian giants had returned to Abidjan from a brief trip across the border to Dormaa Ahenkro in Ghana where they beat Aduana Stars 2-0 to revive their campaign in the Caf Confederation Cup.
At their famous training centre in Sol Beni, the team was joined by a distinguished guest – the top scorer of the Cameroonian national team (56 goals in 118 games).
Eto’o took part in all the training drills and even offered a helping hand in moving goalpost.
" pic.twitter.com/QLqewPOjWT— ASEC Mimosas (@ASECMimosas) August 22, 2018
At the end of the session, the new Qatar Sports Club recruit advised the Asec players on putting their respective careers ahead of money.
“Love what you do, when we love what we do, we never suffer for that. I’m 37 years old, despite all that I have, I still like to play football.
“Do not like it for money, because when you become No. 1, the coach knows it, you have the money that goes with it,” he stated.
Samuel Eto’o is on a brief holiday in Ivory Coast.
“Abidjan is home. I have my house here. My wife is Ivorian. It’s always a pleasure,” he said in explaining his presence in the West African country during a radio interview.
