2018 World Cup: Egyptians will remember us after we retire – Omar Gaber
Omar Gaber believes the current Pharaohs squad will be remembered for qualifying Egypt to the 2018 Fifa World Cup.
The 26-year-old is in coach Hector Cuper’s final 23-man list that will represent the Arabian nation in the Russian-hosted tourney for the first time since 1990. The Los Angeles FC defender is hopeful he, along with his teammates, will write a chapter in the history books of the country.

“After 28 years, I think it is special for this generation [to reach the World Cup]. All the people will remember us after we retire,” Gaber told the digital team of Los Angeles Football Club.
“I’m so proud and excited that I will represent my country in the World Cup. It’s a big honour so I’m so excited.”
“Hopefully we will be able to perform and do well at the tournament,” he added.
The right-back was part of the Pharaohs squad that finished as runners in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
