Caf CC: Aduana coach positive ahead of Asec clash

Aduana Stars head coach Yussif Abubakar is upbeat ahead of his side’s 2018 Caf Confederation Cup fixture against Asec Mimosas in Abidjan.

The Ogya lads began their African campaign in the Caf Champions League but were kicked out in the first round after losing to Algerian side ES Setif 4-1 on aggregate. They, however, got a lifeline in the play-off stage of the Confederation Cup after eliminating Malagasy side Fosa Juniors 7-3 after in a two legged contest.

It is through these round of encounters, that their gaffer believes they are ready for their first group stage battle.

“Now we have the experience of playing in the African Club Championship, we believe that we can do more than enough to come out of the ASEC game with a good result. So far we have played three clubs( Al Tahaady, ES Setif and Fosa Juniors); two in Champions League and one in this competition, so we know what to expect when playing away,” Yussif remarked.

“This is our very first game at the Group stage of any CAF Club competition and we want to start on a good note”.

Aduana face Ivorian club Asec Mimosas on May 6.
