Caf CC: Aduana travel for Fosa Juniors reverse with 16 players

Ghana’s sole representatives, Aduana Stars left Accra Sunday night with 16 players for their Confederation Cup playoffs second leg against Fosa Juniors in Madagascar.

The league champions boarded a Kenyan Airways flight and are expected to touch down their destination in time for the match set for Wednesday, April 18.

Per the 16-man squad decided by head coach Yusif Abubakar, Aduana embarked on their trip with two goalkeepers, six defenders, five midfielders and three strikers.

Centre-back Paul Aidoo who started the first leg in Dormaa as well as right-back Hafiz Adams could not claim a place in the travelling team.

Aduana Stars are on a quest for a slot in the group stage of the Confederation Cup. They hold a 6-1 advantage from the first leg.

Knowing the herculean task his team faces to overturn the deficit, Fosa Juniors coach Bob Kootwijk says they will play for pride.

Wednesday’s clash is billed for the Rabemananjara Stadium in Mahajanga.

It will have referees from Comoros led by Ali Mohamed Adelaid controlling affairs.

Defenders: Caleb Amankwaah, Justice Anane, Emmanuel Akuoko, Abdul Rashid, Stephen Anokye Badu, Farouk Adams

Midfielders: Elvis Opoku, Noah Martey, Sam Adams, Mumuni Zakaria, Emmanuel Boateng

Strikers: Bright Adjei, Nathaniel Asamoah, Yahaya Mohammed
