Caf CL: Aduana suffer lone goal defeat to Al-Tahaddy

Ghanaian league winners Aduana Stars slipped to a narrow defeat away to Al-Tahaddy SC in their 2018 Caf Champions League preliminary round first leg clash on Sunday.

In a game with many chances for both sides, it was only a Mahmoud Ali early strike in the first half which made the difference as the Libyans held on to record a 1-0 victory at their adopted home, the Petro Sports Stadium in Cairo.

Despite suffering defeat, Aduana Stars would be content with the result knowing they will be heading to their favourite and re-turfed home grounds, the Nana Agyeman Badu I Park in Dormaa for the second leg encounter needing to overturn a one-goal deficit.

Aduana Stars will host Al-Tahaddy on a hot afternoon on Wednesday February 21.

Aduana Stars XI:

Joseph Addo – Caleb Amankwaa, Abdul Rashid, Stephen Anokye Badu, Paul Aidoo – Noah Martey, Elvis Opoku, Sam Adams, Zakaria Mumuni – Bright Agyei, Derick Sasraku

Subs: Emmanuel Boateng, Farouk Adams, Justice Anane, Gockel Ahotor, Emmanuel Akuoko, Nathaniel Asamoah, Ahmed Tijani
