Samuel Eto’o leaves Antalyaspor to join Konyaspor

Former Cameroon international, Samuel Eto’o has left Antalyaspor for Konyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig.

In September last year, Eto’o’s agent, Wilfried de Happi sounded out that the former Barcelona was seeking to make what could be his last career move and has been granted his wish after reaching a mutual agreement to part ways with the Scorpions on Tuesday.

“We thank him for his contributions to the club so far and we wish him success in the next sporting event,” read a statement from Antalyaspor who occupy 16th position on the Super Lig log.

Samuel Eto’o joined Antalyaspor in 2015 and helped them to a fifth-place finish in the Turkish Super Lig last term.

Later on Tuesday night, the 36-year-old was announced as a new player for Konyaspor who now become the 12th club of his professional career.

He will be unveiled to the club fans on Wednesday afternoon.

Samuel Eto’o won the Champions League twice during a five-year stint with Barca and he also won Europe’s top prize while with Inter Milan in 2010.
