Egypt’s Smouha add more firepower to squad with Ghana duo signing

Egyptian side Smouha SC are splashing the cash on Ghanaian forwards.

The Alexandria-based giants have further bolstered their attacking arsenal with the signing of Hans Kwofie and Augustine Okrah.

Coming off the back of the capture of compatriot Stephen Sarfo last month, the latest additions to the squad only adds further strength and depth to their team as they seek to boost their fortunes in the ongoing Egypt Premier League.

Smouha currently lie at 6th place on the Egyptian league table with 23 points from 16 matches, fourteen points behind leaders Ismaily.

Hans Kwofie arrives from AshantiGold as the reigning Ghana Premier League top scorer. The attacking midfielder netted 17 goals in the 2016/17 season.

Also, Augustine Okrah switches from Sudan where he helped Al Hilal to win the Premier League. The 24-year-old playmaker is another former goal king of the Ghanaian topflight. He won the gong with 16 goals after the 2013/14 season.

Both players, who have been signed for three years, were announced on Tuesday.

Smouha’s Ghana trio of Kwofie, Okrah and Sarfo will work under veteran tactician Talaat Youssef as their head coach. He was also appointed in December.
