Caf Awards: Ayiah dropped, Black Princesses in contention

Ghana’s chances of landing two gongs at the 2017 Caf/Aiteo Awards was reduced to one after the Confederation of African Football announced their final shortlists on Monday.

Black Starlets captain Eric Ayiah had made the initial list for the Caf Youth Player of the Year but missed out on the final three revealed in Accra.

Krepin Diatta (Senegal), Paston Daka (Zambia) and Mali’s Under-17 midfielder Salam Giddou made the list.

However, the Ghana Under-20 female side, the Black Princesses have been nominated for the Women’s National Team of the Year award.

The Ghana U-20s will be up against their counterparts from Nigeria and the South Africa senior women’s team, Bayana Bayana.
