Wafu Cup: Ghana reveal final squad [with shirt numbers]

Hosts Ghana have announced their final squad for the rebirthed biennial Wafu Cup of Nations Tournament.

The 16-nation competition is scheduled for the Central Region beginning September 9 through to the grand finale on the 24th.

Head coach Maxwell Konadu initially called 25 players to camp from which he had to select a final 18 in order to meet the demands of the competition.

The following players – Kwame Baah (Inter Allies), Moro Ibrahim (Bolga Allstars), Abeiku Ainooson (AshGold), Farouk Mohammed (Elmina Sharks), Amos Addai (AshGold), Seidu Salifu (Unattached) and Daniel Lomotey (WAFA) failed to make to the Black Stars ‘B’ final selection.

Ghana will open the tournament when they face off with The Gambia in the preliminary round of the competition at 1500 GMT on Saturday.

The winner of this tie advances to the group stage of the Wafu Cup.
