CHAN Qualifier: Maxwell Konadu hints at defensive re-enforcement ahead of second leg

After seeing his time concede twice in Ouagadougou, Maxwell Konadu has hinted at improving Ghana’s defence ahead of the second leg in Kumasi.

The Black Stars “B” twice relinquished their lead in their first leg qualifier to draw 2-2 with the Stallions.

With the game nearing its end, a defensive mix-up allowed Illiase Sawadogo to level the tie and reduce the margin of error for Ghana in Kumasi.

The poor defending has got Konadu worried and he is keen to improve that area before the second leg.

“We have to make sure we strengthen our defence before the second leg,” he told reporters.

The game is far from over on the whole and Konadu is wary of the threat possessed by Burkina Faso.

“We can’t downplay the efforts the Burkinabe team put in the game. They did very well.”

“In my opinion, when you are down twice and come back to equalize is not easy but they were able to do it.”

Ghana scored through Sadick Adams and Gideon Waja.
