AFCON 2017: Uganda submits final 23-man list

Uganda coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has announced his 23-man squad for the 2017 African Cup of Nations.

The ‘Cranes’ make a comeback after a 29-year absence – previously losing to Ghana in the 1978 finals.

In a bid to shape, they lost two goals to nil on Wednesday afternoon in a warm-up game against Tunisia – a match the coach described his team as a ‘select side’.

Uganda now leave Tunis for Dubai for the final phase of preparations where they will play two friendly game against Ivory Coast and Slovakia.

Uganda will play their first group game against the Black Stars of Ghana on the 17th of January in Port Gentil before playing Egypt and Mali respectively.

The squad is made-up of five local and 18 foreign-based players.
