Andre Ayew returned from injury to play for West Ham United team in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night as they dispatched Chelsea 2-0 to reach the quarter finals of the competition.
The player got injured in his Premier League debut game for West Ham United against Chelsea and has since not featured for the club following his record transfer move from Swansea City.
The former Olympique Marseille player replaced Manuel Lanzini in the 78th minute in the English League Cup game. Ayew’s return is a major boost for the Black Stars as they prepare to take on Egypt in a crucial world cup qualifier next month with the cup of nations also to come in January.
