CAF CC: Medeama highly optimistic of beating MO Bejaia

The Technical Director of Medeama SC, Evans Adotey is in high spirit the Tarkwa-based club will triumph against their Algerian counterpart MO Bejaia on Wednesday.

The Yellow and Mauves lost 3-1 to TP Mazembe in their opening game of the on-going Confederation Cup group stage game.

Bejaia are making a return to Ghana after earlier playing a goalless draw with current league holders Ashanti Gold in the Champions League earlier this year. The Algerians defeated Tanzanian side Young Africans by a goal to nil in their opening game and hope to continue against the Mauves.

Medeama on the other hand have kept clean sheet in all their home games throughout the qualifiers and subsequently scored twice in each game.

Adotey reveals Medeama have been keeping a close eye on the Algerians and won’t be bothered by their style of play.

“Looking at the match we played against New Edubiase, we lost and it hurts us but we have gotten over it and looking forward to what is ahead of us,” Adotey told Kumasi-based Nhyira FM.

“Morale is high in camp as well as motivation. I’m also very enthused about team spirit especially after training – so I’m very much certain we will win on Wednesday.”

“Immediately after the draw, we got clips of all the three oppositions, Young African, MO Bejaia and TP Mazembe. Their recent game against Ashanti Gold revealed a lot to us, their playing style, attitude and the delaying antics. But our main aim is to claim all the three points since we lost the first game.”

“They [Bejaia] placing second on the league table does not scare us. All that we are looking forward is to get the maximum three points. I can’t predict whether we will score two or three but it all depends on our game plan and how the opposition will encounter us. I’m promising that this time around; Medeama will claim all the three points.”

The Yellow and Mauves will host MO Bejaia at the Sekondi Essipong Stadium on Wednesday.
