Adepa pessimistic of All Stars qualification in CAFCL

Head coach for CAF Champions League campaigners Wa All Stars, Enos Adepa, has played down the chances of the Northern Blues qualifying to the next stage of the competition after suffering defeat at home in the first leg.

All Stars, current league champions were shocked at home by their Libyan counterpart Al Ahli Tripoli 1-3 – making the second leg an uphill task for them to overcome.

Whiles many believe a comeback is still possible, Adepa believes they have seemingly come to the end of the road.

“Truth must be told, our chances for qualification are very slim, because we all know how organized and how prepared the North Africans in terms of preparations,” Enos told Bohye FM.

“They put up all manner of delay tactics even when you are leading them by a goal to nil thinking that is a good score line and can overturn it. It will be very difficult for us.”

“However, football is unpredictable. You can’t tell what to happen in the minute. We are preparing for the return encounter, but maybe they might feel complacent playing at home so we could capitalize on that.”

All Stars will leave the country for Libya on Wednesday for the return encounter on Sunday the February 19.
