Afcon 2019: Partey admits ‘bad day at the office’

Midfielder determined to help Black Stars after a poor outing

Thomas Partey admitted he had a bad day when Ghana played their second game against Cameroon at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Saturday.

The Black Stars failed to win this time again, playing out a 0-0 draw after being held to a 2-2 stalemate by Benin in their tournament opener.

But the Atletico Madrid midfielder aims to bounce back and help drive the Black Stars to a result against Guinea-Bissau in the final Group F game on Tuesday.

“It’s a game of football, we are a team and we play as a team.

“Today, things didn’t go well for me personally. I tried to help with whatever I can and I’m happy with the performance of team.

“Now we have to focus on our next game,” Partey, 24, told the press.

With two points in as many games, Ghana sit third on the Group F log and must win their final game for a realistic chance of a last-16 berth.
