Janny Sikazwe: Zambian ref handed Kenya vs Ghana clash
Caf has appointed fast-rising Zambian World Cup referee Janny Sikazwe to officiate the 2019 Nations Cup qualifier between Kenya and Ghana on Saturday.
The Group F encounter kicks off at 1300 GMT at Nairobi’s Moi International Sports Centre.
Sikazwe, 39, will be assisted by compatriots Oliver Gift Mweene and Kabwe Chansa.
Another Zambian, Wisdom Chewe will act as fourth official while Jean-Albert Rollin from Reunion is the Match Commissioner.
Janny Sikazwe – who is described by his peers as one of the fittest referees – made Zambia and Africa proud this summer when he handled his first senior men’s World Cup match between Belgium and Panama.
The professional teacher made the headlines during the last Fifa Club World Cup when he rescinded his controversial red card decision against Real Madrid. He has also officiated at the U-20 World Cup and Afcon in 2017.
